Sum, Sum, Summertime
Here in So Cal we are trying to soak up as much sun and beach as we can before the big move east. Only two more weeks to go before the movers load up our stuff and we head to a new home. It is getting tough to balance all the chores of such a big move, with packing the schedule with all the museums and amazing places we’d like to see but haven’t. But we will keep trying. We still try to balance it all out with simple everyday activities too — like a walk to the local park. There is a house we pass on the way there that always has beach towels hanging out to dry. This weekend I finally had a chance to catch it. Here is my BSM, and this is SOOC too.

By the Sea
This weekend we started to check off our list of things to do in Southern California. The Snake has been dying to go the local aquarium, and it was a great day to do it. This summer has been stressful. Planning for our big move back east, buying a house, dealing with illness and chaos. It was nice to have a family day out. The Snake was super excited and focused. Number one items were the octopus and the sharks. Sadly the octopus was hiding, but he finally got up the courage to touch the sharks and the sting rays. I had a great time testing the limits of my new camera. So here is my Best Shot Monday, along with some other shots of our great day.

Despite being in the stroller most of the day, even the babies had a good time.

Hope your summer is wet and fun.
Sunflare
The last couple of days have finally felt like summer here. I know many in the northeast are also having a cool summer. But it so counter-intuitive to live in SoCal where I imagined it would always be warm and sunny, and then find that in July I’m still sleeping with a blanket at night. Don’t get me wrong, I love this beachy climate, but I picked up a few cute summer skirts and it has just been too cool to wear them!
Well, this weekend we finally had some heat and took a walk down to the park. While the babies played in the sand, I had a chance to practice my sunflare with The Snake. So here it is, it’s my Best Shot Monday too.

Waiting for the Fireworks
Fourth of July was a great weekend, despite another FAILED attempt to get a group shot of all 3 kids. They had cute, matching shirts, but between getting to know my new camera and VERY mobile babies — it was an abismal failure.
So instead I thought I’d share this shot for BSM that I took of the sunset on the Fourth. We went to friends’ apartment in a high-rise right on the beach and were able to watch fireworks from about 3 different towns. It was pretty neat!

Bobble Head Baby
So I’ve been absent here for far too long. You’ll need to forgive me, as life has been charging along like a freight train without brakes. While you wait for more substantial content, enjoy Miss Peaches new talent.*
{You need to click on the link below that says “Bobble Head Baby” because I can’t get sucky free-version of wordpress to accept this site’s format — UGH. Be prepared for a platform change in the next 6 months}

*Forgive the need to turn your head sideways! I just got my beautiful new Nikon D90 camera and this is my first try at shooing video with it. I have no clue how to do much editing, but wanted to share this. I promise to improve in the future
Coming attractions: First Birthdays, long plane rides, and a new home for the Life in Eden family.
